I posted this on my Facebook page a couple of days ago.  Take the time to read this article from the Natiional Chamber Foundation and tell me what you think:

One thing I can comment on is the Human Capital piece. Years of slashing training budgets has taken its toll on the readiness of our workforce. One way it has hurt is the bottom line. Many jobs go unfilled from within because a qualified person cannot be found. Another way this has hurt is mobility. As people are laid off from one company it is increasingly harder for them to move within an industry or to another because money has not been spent to keep workers current.
