Step Back and Pray

Now that one suspect is dead an the other is in custody for the Boston Marathon bombings it is time to step back:

  • Step back and pray for the deceased, the wounded, their families and friends.  They are going through pain we cannot even imagine
  • Step back and pray for the responders. The firefighters, police, doctors, nurses, volunteers who treated the victims and have seen a brutal act of terror and war up close.  As they struggle to understand they need to know we are here for them
  • Step back and pray for the police and federal agents who tracked these terrorists down and battled with them.  After the "rush" of an operation like this they may feel let down.  They need to know we are there for them
  • Step back and pray that the following investigation and that it yields information that can prevent heinous acts like this from happening
  • Finally, step back and pray for the people of Boston and our Nation we may not feel as safe as we did last week but  we cannot allow fear to paralyze us

As the lyrics from a popular song say,"... I get knocked down, but I get up again, you ain't never gonna keep me down..."

Time to Get Educated...

Now that both candidates for President are officially picked. Here is my challenge to the voters. Or as Clint would say the owners of this country. Get educated. Look past the race war bs, the war on women bs, the only the rich will get the tax breaks bs all the bs. We have to make a fundamental choice between; Do I want a job, to start a business, keep my business going, etc. to support my family? And; Do I want a hand out? Personally I want to work. It may be a pain at time, stressful at times, days I want to pack it in and become a Parrothead at times, etc... But I would not give it up for a hand out. I want to leave this place better. I enjoy teaching and seeing the spark in a student when they talk about starting their own business. Wake up America; this is the most important election since 1860. The results of that one divided a nation. The outcome of this one could either bring this country back together or finish the split. I'm Bill Beshlian and I approved this message...

I posted this on my Facebook page a couple of days ago.  Take the time to read this article from the Natiional Chamber Foundation and tell me what you think:

One thing I can comment on is the Human Capital piece. Years of slashing training budgets has taken its toll on the readiness of our workforce. One way it has hurt is the bottom line. Many jobs go unfilled from within because a qualified person cannot be found. Another way this has hurt is mobility. As people are laid off from one company it is increasingly harder for them to move within an industry or to another because money has not been spent to keep workers current.

An Important Freedom/Privilege All Americans Have...

As we speed towards Election Day this November let us remember this important point voting is a privilege in this country not a right. You cannot and should not vote if you are a convicted felon, in this country illegally, the list goes on. Millions of men and women came before my generation and I pray millions will come after some times making the ultimate sacrifice to protect your vote among the other freedoms we enjoy. That is why it is important you exercise your vote every Primary and Election Day.

We Need a Leader

Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake..."  Here is my challenge to everyone who is looking to beat the incumbent in every election this fall from local Dog Catcher to the White House.  Let your opponent throw all of the back biting rhetoric they want to say about you out there and do this.  Act like President George W. Bush (that's Bush 43 for you Politico types) and if it gets to you or your staff, don't show it.  Instead lead by example.  Hold your head up and say when I'm elected Dog Catcher, President, ... this is how I plan to get the job done.  This country has not had a leader since 11:59 AM (Eastern Time) on January 20, 2009.  If you lead this way it's a start and maybe just maybe the stray dogs will stay off the street and the 535 other elected officials (who by the way have temp job, like you) will stop bickering and get back to work (before they are unemployed...)  Bill

Do You Have an Idea for an Energy Policy

Enough pontificating.  I have a serious question.  Do you have an idea for an Energy Policy?  Here is something to consider.  Should we leverage each region of the USA's strength along side fossil fuels? (T. Boone Pickens) Do you feel we need to develop alternative energy sources and abandon fossil fuels?  If you answer the former what energy sources are you considering?  If you choose to answer the latter; how would you bridge the gap from where we are now to use of alternative (aka renewable) energy sources?
